em-scaled elements have inconsistent sizes #17

This is particularly pronounced on Chrome, and not very surprising for objects that are a few pixels across - are there any known fixes for this, though?

This is actually mostly a WebKit and Opera issue; Firefox and IE both do pretty good jobs rendering everything and keeping positions/sizes consistent due to their sub-pixel rendering.

IE11's rendering of the map actually looks a lot prettier than WebKit almost everywhere; it's a fair bit slower, though.
