What is the difference if we use KS2.5 or KS4 ? #7

Hi,

Thanks for your great tracking tool. I noticed that Kilosort has the new versions of KS3 and KS4. Would it be better to use the new version?

Hi Gery111,

Thanks for the email and sorry for the late reply. The Neuron_Tracking tool uses sorting results as input, so it’s not be particularly dependent on sorter. It is sensitive to the number of units included that are likely NOT present across days, and that may vary for the different versions of KS. KS4 does not output a drift corrected binary file, which means waveforms could be slightly less consistent. We don’t know how much that impacts results without testing. Hope that answers your question.
