Great idea! I will leave this open for now to let you guys discuss this if you want but keep in your mind that we are not planning on adding something like this while them bot is still in BETA! 😉

An entirely new bot instance using a user-provided token could be generated through the ShadowAPI on request by the user, but that would mean pretty much running the same instance multiple times, therefore increasing the overall server/network load - besides that, it is a great feature that could be accessible to premium users.

Edit: Webhooks?? 🤔

@ComradeTurtle webhooks is not an option (they can edit webhooks via discord anyway) so as you said a new instance is required. As for the increasing server/network load we have time to think about that because this feature will be introduced once the bot leaves the BETA stage!

We can make a special section on the dashboard for everyone that wants to have the functions of protector on their own application. Of course you will need to have the code public (here on GitHub), same license and keep the credits in the about command (adding an Editing by field is okay!)

What do you guys think? Is this a good early idea?

I like the sound of it

This will probably be a premium feature in Version 1.0. We are not in a rush because the dashboard hasn't released yet and there are some things we wanna try before saying adding this as a feature:

The biggest problem here is the server. We are not a big bot yet and we don't have the money to go big with something like this because it needs a good server that we don't currently have. I don't know if we will be able to pull it off in v1.0 but we will definitely add it as a feature later on.

Also the problem with the open source code suggestion is that we have to make the bot open source. It's something that we don't currently want so we will consider that options but don't get your hopes up.

Me and @vaggos-thanos discussed this issue a bit today! While we don't plan on working on this in the near future I can say for sure that this is possible and we can do it once we have a larger audience and a bit more support. The above ideas are still valid and we will explore all of them!

Note: Yes we will need a new server for this to happen and that's the reason we can't really go ahead with the idea right now. I'm leaving this open and will be back with more news when we leave the beta phase of the bot!
