Even if you directly shoot at someone standing on top of a portal they created, you cannot impact them with ranged weapons, because the portal registers before the mob standing right on top of it. Anyone doing this will sit directly on top of the portal and laugh as they shoot back at you or whatever else, because the same rules don't apply for outgoing shots.
So basically, hand teles make people invincible to ranged attacks yet they can still dish out ranged fire. This seems like an exploit, a pretty gamebreaking one. Not literally, but rather standing on a portal of a hand tele does that.
Did testing with catnip after seeing this happen in a crossfire round. Very easy to replicate.
