GHRSST #42

GHRSST Level 4 MUR Global Foundation Sea Surface Temperature Analysis (v4.1) (GDS versions 1 and 2)

I'm turning this on for years 2015-2017. It seems that the archived collections are in good shape, up to a 2 month lag or so:

Real-time can be gotten from PODAAC, which I'll review soonish:

Today's theory is we should be looking here:

ftp://podaac-ftp.jpl.nasa.gov/allData/ghrsst/data/GDS2/L4/GLOB/JPL/MUR/v4.1/

What I've looked at is 36000x18000 grids, more "regular" than the 32768 ones. I think the nodc source above is a mix of this more recent JPL product and the 32768 sized one.

Installed config updated and I put a reference session showing the old inconsistent files compared to the new ones. 7c1fcc1

Well I walked right into that pit and fell down hard. Updated the ghrsst handler now :)

There's the added benefit of an order of magnitude in file size saved since the JPL ones are v4 internally compressed, rather than externally bz2. I'm deleting the ftp.nodc.noaa.gov/ archive.

Turned on at the root (2002-current) ftp://podaac-ftp.jpl.nasa.gov/allData/ghrsst/data/GDS2/L4/GLOB/JPL/MUR/v4.1/
