About the chat setting

About the purge setting

sgdc3 commented 5 years ago

About the chat issue, can you reproduce it with only authme installed?

Matocolotoe commented 5 years ago

Wait, is there any permission that exists and allows chat before login ?

sgdc3 commented 5 years ago

Yeah it exists: authme.allowchatbeforelogin

sgdc3 commented 5 years ago

Please provide the steps to reproduce the purge issue

Matocolotoe commented 5 years ago

About the chat issue, it comes from there (i have the * permission). To reproduce the purge issue, set the useAutoPurge to false and restart the server or use /authme reload. After that, it becomes true again

Matocolotoe commented 5 years ago

Any news @sgdc3 ?

sgdc3 commented 5 years ago

Sadly it's a very busy period for me, i'll try to take a look at it asap.

Matocolotoe commented 5 years ago

Any news on this ? It's been a super long time xd

ljacqu commented 5 years ago

Sadly can't reproduce it :) useAutoPurge is false on my side and always has been :/ Are you still getting this?

Matocolotoe commented 5 years ago

Still getting this problem with latest dev build...

ljacqu commented 5 years ago

Please post your config.yml

I took your config exactly over as is and besides adding "Localhost" to the country whitelist I change "useAutoPurge" to false and it stays like this even after /authme reload or after restarting the server. I even removed a property to trigger a rewrite and useAutoPurge stays false.

So to me this sounds like maybe something keeps resetting your config.yml to the current state. That it's not just about "useAutoPurge" reverting back to the current value but that your entire file is somehow not editable for whatever reason in your server setup. Since we haven't ever heard of this from anyone else, I conclude that the problem is on your end.

ljacqu commented 5 years ago

So what you can do from here is check if it also happens for you locally / in some other environment, which I would guess it won't. If you're hosting your server with someone it might be worth to check with them if they have some idea.

If you still don't believe me and want to dig into it technically, one pointer I have is Settings#save (inherited from SettingsManagerImpl) in our codebase, which is the only place that saves the config.yml as far as I can tell, besides the initial creation of the file if missing, handled in SettingsProvider. But as mentioned in a previous comment, the default value of the "useAutoPurge" property is false so I really can't explain how our code would keep changing it to true.

Matocolotoe commented 5 years ago

Thanks for the help, i'll try what you said

Matocolotoe commented 5 years ago

@ljacqu Well I reset my config file, stopped the server, edited the file, and after a reboot the useAutoPurge setting is still on true...

ljacqu commented 5 years ago

So, have you done the following?

check if it also happens for you locally / in some other environment, which I would guess it won't. If you're hosting your server with someone it might be worth to check with them if they have some idea.

Matocolotoe commented 5 years ago

Hard for me to test right now, will contact you once I did

Matocolotoe commented 4 years ago

Nevermind, will open a brand new server with the latest build of the plugin on it, I don't think the issue should occur again.

Matocolotoe commented 4 years ago

@ljacqu Just tested on a brand new server with the latest dev build, stopped it, set the purge setting to false, and the second I started the server the file got edited and it was on true, so yes, this is an issue with the plugin

@Matocolotoe with just authme installed?

Yup
