REVIT 2024 - Export IFC error #625

Open SDA00 opened 1 year ago

SDA00 commented 1 year ago

Hello,

I am trying to export the Snowdon Towers Sample Electrical model from Revit 2024 to IFC 2x3, not exporting the linked models and leaving the basic configuration. But I get the following error:

"An unrecoverable error occurred during export. This may be because the file is too large for export. Try using filters with the "Active view only" option, or check the documentation for other suggestions. The export will be aborted." Snowdon Towers Sample Electrical_Rapport d'erreur.html.pdf

I have tried several times, but without success. Thank you in advance SDA

We will look into this. We are adding updated IFC for Revit 2024, so will see if the issue has already been identified and solved (I am pretty sure we tested the sample project...)

parrela commented 1 year ago

I cannot reproduce this myself in 2024. I do have a slightly different build of Revit, so I will get up to date. My build is ENU, though I would not expect language to affect this.

parrela commented 1 year ago

My up-to-date version (in FRA) has no problem either. What view were you exporting from?

SDA00 commented 1 year ago

I tried again on another (more powerful) computer with Revit 2024 and it worked. Maybe something went wrong during the installation. I will redo the installation and try again with the default PC and get back to you soon.

SDA00 commented 1 year ago

Hello I uninstalled Revit 2024 and then reinstalled it but I still get the same error. Maybe it's because the driver is not up to date?

It's a strange problem

SDA00 commented 1 year ago

Here a log file during the export. journal.0008.txt

Maybe this will help to understand? I put in REVIT in ENU version and still the error.

AngelVelezSosa commented 1 year ago

Hmm, it looks like something (not much) was exported. Do you have any addins?

SDA00 commented 1 year ago

Yes in Revit 2023, 2022, 2020, but nothing in Revit 2024. image

My IFC Export work with Revit 2023,2022,2020.

AngelVelezSosa commented 1 year ago

Do you have Revit 2024 installed on the same machine as a previous version of Revit?

SDA00 commented 1 year ago

Yes

AngelVelezSosa commented 1 year ago

Can you try putting Revit 2024 on a machine with no previous version? If that works, then I can follow up to see if there is guidance around that. I know that people in general avoid having multiple versions of Revit on their machine, but I don't know if it discouraged/disallowed/should work or what.

SDA00 commented 1 year ago

For information, in a second PC, i have Revit 2024, 2023, 2022, 2020 and the export worked. Maybe something is wrong with my first PC.

BalintBende commented 1 year ago

I still have the same error, my config is the following: processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz, 1.99 GHz memory: 16,0 GB

eriadam commented 1 year ago

@SDA00 Was there maybe a different version of windows on the other PC?

SDA00 commented 1 year ago

Hello @eriadam, Yes the other PC is Windows 11 The PC with the "bug" is Windows 10. Config : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz RAM 32.0 Go

I tried with another Revit model than the one provided by Autodesk and the export worked on the default PC (windows 10)

eriadam commented 1 year ago

@AngelVelezSosa Is there any reason for the IFC export to not work on Windows 10? It should be supported.

AngelVelezSosa commented 1 year ago

Windows 10 is absolutely supported. It's what I use.
