PR: IFC with large coordinates causes problems #712

Open AlexSchleicher opened 7 months ago

Problem Description

When I link an IFC file with large coordinates in Revit 2023, it is loaded in the center of my project and the selection frame is around the geometry.

RVT 23

In Revit 2024 it appears as if the selection frame extends to the coordinate zero point. As a result, I get incorrect representations for my geometries and cannot work with the file.

RVT 24 Broken 3D View

I hope someone can help me.

Greetings, Alex Schleicher

Have you checked with Revit 2024.1?

AlexSchleicher commented 7 months ago

I have installed Revit 2024.2 with build 24.2.0.63. I also installed the latest version of the exporter 2024.2.0.49 yesterday. However, Revit still shows me the old version 2024.1.1.6 of the exporter.

Can anyone confirm the problem?

I have the seem bug in revit 2024.2 when I link an IFC.

AngelVelezSosa commented 6 months ago

We'd have to see the file. Revit 2024.1 changes how the center point is found for files with large coordinates, but they should still be close to the origin.

I have already forwarded the case to Autodesk support.

Here is what the support said: "The fix requires the code for Revit to be modified, and as such, we do not have a timeline for when any fix may be released. I appreciate your patience as we work to resolve your inquiry." ..."As a workaround : link this IFC to Revit 2023, then link (generated while linking) *.ifc.rvt to Revit 2024"
