Can't move connecting lines

The docs shows handles on connecting lines. I can't figure out how to trigger the handles so I can customize the shape of the lines. The doc says to click on the line, I've tried single/double left/right clicks and that didn't work.

But how can I route the line manually in a different place? As in using grab handles at the corners of the line to drag and drop it in a different place?

What you’re describing shows how to change the color and style of the line, not its shape.
