Authors block is missing in the post after upgrading from v3.4.3 to 3.5.x #916

We are using Co-Authors Plus plugin on WordPress version: 5.4.12

When we upgraded the plugin from 3.4.3 to the current version 3.5.8, we are not able to see the authors block under the post while editing to select the authors anymore.

Prior to Upgrade (v.3.43):

I used WP Rollback to roll back the plugin all the way to 3.5 and I see the issue still persists. So, it definitely broke prior to 3.5. I am currently unable to rollback the plugin all the way to 3.4.3 as that version is not available in downloads anymore: https://wordpress.org/plugins/co-authors-plus/advanced/

I see that this was introduced in 3.5: https://github.com/Automattic/Co-Authors-Plus/pull/790

This block seemed to be moved to the sidebar, but not sure if this is testing in the WordPress version 5.x. This is definitely not showing up on 5.4.12 that we are on currently.

Confirmed - the new sidebar box only appears from WP 5.7.
