Ensure that Button Block is Represented in Subscription Emails #11552

Open macmanx2 opened 5 years ago

At the moment, our subscription emails do not display content created with the Button Block.

This makes sense for now, as the button is not an image, but HTML/CSS.

Since buttons are generally integral to the content of the post they are used in, perhaps we could at least display the linked URL in our subscription emails.

This issue has been marked as stale. This happened because:

No further action is needed. But it's worth checking if this ticket has clear reproduction steps and it is still reproducible. Feel free to close this issue if you think it's not valid anymore — if you do, please add a brief explanation.

I came across an issue that is similar to this. The text from the button blocks and the links do show in the subscription emails, but the style for them is not respected.

To replicate follow these steps:

  1. Create a post with a button block on a site that you're subscribed as an email follower and publish the post.
  2. Check the email and the style of the button is not respected.

Here's a screenshot of what it looks like on the site: IMG_9738

And this is in the email: IMG_9737

I'll remove the stale label for now to try and reactivate the issue.
