Open muffinpeace opened 2 years ago

muffinpeace commented 2 years ago

Impacted plugin

Jetpack

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install the latest Jetpack version.
  2. Install the latest BuddyPress version.
  3. Go to the Change Profile Photo for your BuddyPress profile (https://mywebsite.com/members/username/profile/change-avatar/)
  4. Select an image to upload
  5. Notice there are no option to select which section/zone to crop and select for the profile image.

A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.

The option to select a zone and crop it as it's usually intended.

What actually happened

There's no option to crop any part as the image doesn't show, except when Jetpack is completely disabled.

I also tested this out on a test site (Jetpack and BuddyPress both active, and Jetpack connected), but had no issues cropping a newly uploading profile image on both Chrome and Firefox at this stage. @muffinpeace on your test site, were there any other plugins installed and active?

jeherve commented 2 years ago

This reminds me of #57, and we have #10016 open for a somewhat related issue. @coder-karen Do you recall if Photon or Lazy Images were active on your site?

coder-karen commented 2 years ago

Neither were active. Testing again with Lazy Images enabled I can replicate the issue (no issues with Photon from what I can see). @muffinpeace does this work for you and the original reporter with Lazy Images disabled (from Jetpack > Settings > Performance)?

coder-karen commented 2 years ago

Following up as I heard that deactivating Lazy Images does allow cropping to work for the original reporter.
