Jetpack: support / extend Command Palette #31639

Core will introduce a new command palette in WordPress 6.3.

A new package, @wordpress/commands, will now become available: https://make.wordpress.org/core/2023/07/17/introducing-the-wordpress-command-palette-api/ https://developer.wordpress.org/block-editor/reference-guides/packages/packages-commands/

It will allow registering custom commands to be displayed in the command palette: https://make.wordpress.org/core/2023/05/17/command-center-request-for-feedback/

Should we consider adding such commands as part of the Jetpack plugin or some of our standalone plugins? If so, which ones?

  1. Open the Jetpack GB sidebar when in the post editor. Similar to how Core is adding 'Open global styles sidebar'
  2. Open the Social Previews modal when in the post editor. Feels like it would be quicker to make changes and preview again than having to go to my mouse.
  3. Open the instant search results customizer when in the site editor. There's no way of customising this part of your site from the site-editor, so having this link might help to better signpost it.
