Social Media Icons: AdBlocker extension can hide icons #7840

I helped a user during a support session yesterday figure out why the icons in the Social Media Menu were not displaying on his site. When I sent him a link to the theme demo to the Natural theme to show him what the icons look like and where to find them, his browser didn't display the icons on the theme demo either. I asked him if he had the AdBlocker installed on his browser (Chrome), and when he said yes, I had him disable it to see if that fixed the issue. It did -- he was able to see the social icons on his website and as well as those on the theme demo.

I know that we've discussed this internally many times over the years, so it's a Known Issue. I don't know if we want to fix this, especially since it doesn't seem to be consistent across users or browsers -- this is the first time I've encountered it in months, and now I can't even replicate it using the same theme and browser that the user had. But I wanted to note this here should we find more user reports, since it's definitely leading to user confusion when it does occur.

I want to make sure I'm clear -- specifically which adblock extension? https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adblock/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom

@kraftbj Sorry, I should have been more clear! Yep, it's the AdBlock extension you're linking to above.

@Lochlaer Cool. When you're duplicating the issue, which lists are you subscribe to? You can see this by clicking on the Adblock item in the toolbar of Chrome, then clicking on the Filter Lists tab.

I couldn't duplicate unless I had on the antisocial list, which says it'll remove social media buttons.

With Adblock, we need to determine which list it is on and request removal from that particular list, if possible.
