Related Posts: Displaying only in Customizer on Project Page #9815

Steps to reproduce the issue

Reported by WordPress.com Business user with plugins in 1234440-zen.

  1. Site running the premium Luxury theme.
  2. Ensure that site has 3+ projects in the portfolio and 3+ blog posts, tagged and categorized similarly.
  3. Open the Customizer and within its view, navigate to a single project page within the portfolio.
  4. Notice the related posts section at the bottom of the project page:

http://cld.wthms.co/MoVfPI

What I expected

Since the related posts are visible on that page in the Customizer, I expected to see that same content section when viewing that project on the front end. But I didn't:

I'm not sure if this issue is that the related posts content should not be displaying, but the Customizer is showing it, or that it should be displayed but the project page isn't showing it.

My hunch is that related posts should not display on a project page, as it's not a blog post. If that's true, then having it display in the Customizer is the problem. Now we need to understand whether this happens on a self-hosted Jetpack site, too, or something only related to WordPress.com Business plans.
