Reported Issue of App Not Resuming After Google Maps Directions

I also noticed that tonight when I was listening to podcasts in the car my car was connected via Bluetooth and I was also trying to navigate with Google maps and it completely shuts down the Pocket cast app. Help me figure this out otherwise I'm going to have to change my podcast app. I've been trying to troubleshoot this with you guys for a while and I'm getting to my breaking point.

Similar issue was reported in 5517536-zen with Android Auto crashing with Google Maps.

Reported in #7560955-zen. I'm asking them for logs, but this workaround they've been using may help point to the cause of the issue:

The only workaround I've found successful is to shrink the Maps app so that it's sitting on top of the Pocket Casts window. That way I can hear any Maps notifications while still being able to automatically resume the podcast once Maps finishes its notification. No longer does Maps cause Pocket Casts to stop until I manually tap play again. However, this also results in being unable to see route updates and ETAs on Maps since it's displayed in shrunken mode.

Their settings under Profile > Settings (gear icon) > Notifications > Play over notifications were set to "Never."

User in #7560955-zen had battery restrictions for Pocket Casts. After removing the restrictions, playback in the app now only pauses for Google Maps to give its instructions but resumes right after.

If any other user runs into this same issue, please check battery restrictions first.
