Tsubaki homepage template overwriting posts page

2. I choose to switch to the Tsubaki homepage
3. I expect the homepage to display the Tsubaki homepage and the posts page the posts
4. The posts page displays the Tsubaki homepage
5. The homepage displays the content as set up in the previous theme

I expected the homepage to be overwritten with the homepage template and the posts page to display the posts

What actually happened

The posts page was over written by the homepage template and the homepage remained the same.
