Bug Description:

"Set up payments" task not being marked as completed after "Manual plugin installation and setup" on "Woocommerce > Home" page.

Environment:

Woocommerce Version : WooCommerce 6.1.0 WooCommerce Payments 3.6.0-test-3 WordPress version: v5.8.3

PC: Windows 10 Chrome(Version 97.0.4692.71) Firefox(Version 96.0.1) Mac OS: Safari: v14.1.2

Steps To Reproduce:

  1. Create any test site using JN site.
  2. Install and activate all the required plugins.
  3. Upload and activate theWooCommerce Payments - v3.6.0-test-3 plugin.
  4. Complete "Manual plugin installation and setup".
  5. Complete the setup wizard.
  6. Complete the "Set up payments" task.
  7. Observe that "Set up payments" task not being marked as completed after "Manual plugin installation and setup" on "Woocommerce > Home" page.

Actual Result:

"Set up payments" task not being marked as completed after "Manual plugin installation and setup" on "Woocommerce > Home" page.

Expected Result:

"Set up payments" task should be marked as completed after "Manual plugin installation and setup" on "Woocommerce > Home" page.

@zmaglica could you re-test this to verify if it's applicable, and why it's happening?

There is an issue with a similar problem. I found it during triage. I will update my comment once I find it.

I can confirm this happens on Atomic sites on WordPress.com. The list gets completed only after I checked the Cash on Delivery option but it reverts back to look like it's not complete if I disabled it. I've recommended my user to simply hide the list.

The correct behaviour for this task was recently updated it https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/pull/40665 closing this one
