Get Apps: Remove or improve the link to desktop app on mobile screens #34594

Open rachelmcr opened 5 years ago

rachelmcr commented 5 years ago

Steps to reproduce

  1. Starting at URL: https://wordpress.com/me/get-apps
  2. Note that on a desktop device, the desktop app is listed first and provides an OS-specific download link.
  3. Visit the same URL on a mobile device. Note that the desktop app is listed last and always provides a link to download the Windows app.

What I expected

I expected the Get Apps screen to not show information about the desktop apps, or to provide information that wasn't OS-specific (e.g. a link to apps.wordpress.com/desktop).

What happened instead

On a mobile device, it always shows "Desktop App for Windows" with a download button for the Windows desktop app.

Browser / OS version

Chrome 75.0.3770.100 / macOS 10.14.5 Safari / iOS 12.3.1 (iPhone XS) Chrome / Android 8.1.0 (moto e5 play)

Confirmed this is still happening; it would still be a good enhancement for this screen.
