Navigation: menu items can't be modified on Android mobile browser #46949

Open rezzap opened 4 years ago

rezzap commented 4 years ago

Steps to reproduce

  1. Starting at URL WordPress.com/customize in an Android device go to Menus and select an menu with a few different menu items included.
  2. Try clicking on one of the individual menu items to modify the link or label.
  3. The item can't be clicked on and doesn't expand.

What I expected

I would have expected that on clicking the menu item, the box would expand adding the options to edit links and label.

What happened instead

Nothing happens when you try to click on the item, making it impossible to edit your menu items from an Android device.

Browser / OS version

Replicated on Samsung S9+ Running Android 10. Browser it opened in was Chrome 86.0.4240.110

User reported with Opera, Samsung Browser, Opera Desktop Mode and Chrome.

Screenshot / Video

Screen recordings available in ticket 3448419-zen

Context / Source

In the mobile app, the menu options open in the browser so this is very limiting for anybody who uses only the mobile app to edit their site.

@rezzap I came across this while triaging. Do you mind testing this again to see if you can still replicate it? I don't have an Andriod device and it's been a while since the initial report in October 2020.

I could still reproduce this on Chrome using Android 10 on a Samsung S9+.
