Theme Showcase: Idea: Show Theme Purpose on top level #52568

It actually took me a while to realize that some themes were build with a particular type of site in mind (For example, the Spearhead theme is created for podcast sites). I initially thought a theme was just a visual look that could be repurposed for any type of site.

As I browse themes, I can hover over the theme and read the alt text to see what its purpose is. 2021-05-04_11-01

However, if I have a bunch of themes on the page and I want to know what they're all for, this is a bit annoying to do for all of them. Could it be possible to list the theme's purpose somewhere near the theme, on the top level, without any hovering or clicking required?

I don't know for sure if we want to do this, or how it would be implemented, so this is just a jumping off point for something I noticed.

Some options are corner banners or additional info – except we need to remember that themes in general are intended to be more general. Descriptions can certainly be improved.

Perhaps considering the filtering and search for the advanced themes being brought back for the recommended themes.
