1 year ago Just had a report of this in 41456205-hc . The user updated Firefox earlier today (didn't catch which version but presumably to the latest stable), and after that they started seeing their likes immediately undo themselves.
I tested in Firefox (also latest stable) with my own HE account and was able to like the post. When I SU'd as the user in a Firefox private window, I saw the auto-unlike happen. The user was able to like the post and have it stick when they tried Safari, though.

1 year ago This issue was filed outside of Bugomattic, so it has not been on the radar. Will look at getting it triaged, but for customer expectations, I don't think this will be given a high priority for a fix

Unable to replicate on a test site. Tried this unproxied, using non staff accounts, and within a Private Firefox and Incognito Chrome settings. Also tried setting stricter cookies settings, but the closest I could get to a similar behavior was the following:

Liking/Unliking posts in reader with a high like count displayed a reversal of the action for the moment, but the action is recorded a moment or two later:
