Add First and Last Name fields to Subscriber Block #72121

What

Now that we invited users to come over from Revue, it was highlighted that the instruction link in the Form Block, points to the Jetpack Blocks documentation, which includes the 'Newsletter Signup' as one of the options available, however, this is not available on WordPress.com, only for self-hosted WordPress websites using the Jetpack as a subscription.

Can we include First and Last Name fields to the Subscribe Block, so that the experience here at WordPress.com can match the expected experience for creating and sending newsletters.

This is the expected experience, as per the Revue block (as an example):

I understand that this may also require a means of using this information in outgoing newsletters (re: merge fields), which is additional work.

Why

This is standard industry behaviour for sign up forms, and will make the information received from this block, able to be used as an integration with other plugins, and services, for instance, sending data from the submissions across to CRMs or integrating with marketing plugins, for instance.

How

I'm not sure how.

In 8865969-zen a customer had a very similar request to include First and Last Names in the Subcriber import/ Subscribe Block block
