Feature Request: Embed support for Mastodon and Threads (Meta) posts #84301

What

Provide a way for site owners to add the permalink for a Texts (Meta) or Mastodon post into their WordPress pages/posts.

Why

We currently offer embeds for most popular social media content, but currently do not support Mastodon and Texts embeds.

We see this request from users from time to time but I did not see a feature request was created. Here is a recent tweet from a user asking for this: https://twitter.com/MinkoffMinx/status/1725540565842858233

📌 FINDINGS/SCREENSHOTS/VIDEO Adding a link to a Mastodon post in a WordPress.com site looks all sorts of broken as the Embed Block tries to render the content:

I don't have access to Threads in the EU so I can't repro completely, but from what I tested using a random Threads link, it renders it as an URL

@jerrysarcastic I assume you mean Threads instead of Texts, so I'm updating the issue to reflect that. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
