"Full post" being displayed in the new post emails even if the "Excerpt" option is turned on

Steps to reproduce

1. Go to Settings > Reading and set under "RSS feed settings" to "Excerpt"
2. Create a new post and add content to it
3. Set an excerpt and publish it
4. Check results

The excerpt text should be displayed in the email notification.

It displayed the full post in the email notification.
