Feature Request: Improve position of Download button in Logs tab #96792

Open wojtekn opened 1 week ago

What

There is a 'Download' button in the Logs tab of the Hosting Dashboard. It currently looks like 'Submit' button for the filters and could be missed:

Let's improve the button position to make it a clear CTA.

Why

Currently, users can incorrectly assume that the Download button is a submit button for list of filters, so they could miss that feature.

How

Place the Download button separately from the filters.

Thanks for reporting @wojtekn. That's something a little design work can fix! Here's a new layout that updates the form fields to a more standard layout, groups similar items (the filters are all in one row now), and which us some more room. I also positioned the button in the header for a more prominent placement:

Is this something you can fix or do you know which team can work on it?

@fditrapani thanks for working on the new design. I have a concern related to the Log type. This is not a filter but a link that switches between two log listing pages, each using different filters.

What if we brought the selector back and placed 'Download logs' and Auto-refresh on both sides of their own line?

No problem! I just noticed I accidentally used the wrong labels :P

What about something like this:

I wanted to keep all the controls that manipulate the view in the same general area/row. I think Download makes more sense separated from these other filters/actions.

Let me know what you think!
