Either Video and no overlay OR unplug Fatshark cam and see grey screen with OSD #82

What steps will reproduce the problem?
I flashed the latest firmware 2.0 successfully as well as configured the OSD
successfully, so I dont think that is the problem. As for my FPV setup: I have
the Fatshark Predator V2 system, including the fatshark 600tvl camera and I am
using an Immersion 600mw VTx instead of the supplied 250mw that came with the
goggles. They are both Immersion, connections are exactly the same. I'm using
APM 2.5. The Minimosd sent to me came WITH the 5v Jumpers SOLDERED, so i
started by powering both sides of the board with the 5v from the APM. I have
since removed the solder from jumpers and am now powering from the 3s Lipo
EXACTLY as depicted here:

https://code.google.com/p/arducam-os...dware_Diagrams

Here is the issue: When everything is connected as depicted, i get video from
the fatshark camera (NTSC), but NO OSD OVERLAY (also set to NTSC). If I unplug
the camera feed from the OSD board, I then get a grey screen with the MinimOSD
overlay and functioning telemetry, Attitude compass altitude heartbeats etc are
working perfectly. ( Battery voltage and rssi aren't working but thats for
another day. ) Also worth mentioning: When i pull the video input from the
board and when i see the OSD overlay, I get a strange "strobing" effect where i
can see the Warning Message just above the horizon for a split second and it
blinks in and out. The configuration I have loaded to the board for that screen
should display Warning Messages, so I should see "Disarmed" steadily but I do
not. I have the camera set to NTSC as well as the OSD. I have searched high and
low for a solution to this issue and no one has one. I haven't seen anyone with
this reported problem get it solved. I believe one person got a new board and
that solved it, others have reported new boards and same problem. Any ideas of
what the problem is would be very welcome.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Please provide any additional information below.

That seems to be a typical sync issue. When you pull out the video it does work
because the OSD switch to the internal sync.

Double check if the camera is NTSC or PAL.
Two other guys did it on their 600tvl cameras, as you can see here:
