Show / hide menu bar icon depending on whether simulator is running

I always have to little space in my menu bar. I'd prefer to not have the RocketSim item in my menu bar when I don't have any simulator running. Because this means I don't use it right now.

It would be nice, if the menu bar item would automatically appear and disappear depending on the simulator app state. This behavior could be also opt-in with a setting, if some users prefer to always have the menu bar item.
