I think converting to basic markdown would break most of the pages with video right now.
You can always write standard .md
markdown files if you wish though.

I don't think so.
Anyway, the React Component Autoplay
makes it easier to just embed the videos as they automatically start playing -- this probably would not be possible without JavaScript, which .mdx
files allow you to do.

I was just looking through the MDX docs because I would assume that there are some React specific elements in the Docsite.

Docusaurus 2 has support for Markdown. I think that it would make writing the docs simpler if we start using Markdown now while it's still in it's early stages.
