rename branch from master to main #89

it is not politically correct to name one's branches master (implying that there is slave). Plus, the main trunk association is much more suitable. Hence most modern projects have made the switch already a while a go. We should definitely do so, too before going public.

@aengel17 @wissen-ist-acht @annareimann @LarsKury taggin y'all here so you'll be aware of this when your local clone starts acting up. Thanks for a quick confirm. I'll do the switch next week.

Sure, why not. I am all for decolonizing language

-> Even though I think that with branches - in contrast to the master/slave-metaphor in hierarchical systems - the opposite to master is in fact the apprentice, i.e. master branch as the well-rounded, proven, unconditionally working. Associating master with slave is very much U.S. thought, in Central Europe it's rather Meister -> Lehrling. Sorry, just the historian babbling ;)

GitHub belongs to Microsoft now and was a U.S. company before, so I guess U.S. thinking is definitely what's behind this. However, I guess we should follow the new standard here.
