Did you unload all of the drivers (e.g. igb) managing that interface? If that doesn't work, please post the dmesg output generated when the driver is loaded.
yes i have unloaded all the drivers properly.
sorry i am not able to upload the dmesg file but please find the logs :

followed steps : unloaded all the driver. then loaded all the drivers
It looks like you're running in a virtual machine? I guess the avb i210 driver is loading because the virtualized e1000 is similar enough to the i210 to make it happy, but I wouldn't expect it to actually work in that situation.
Running this stuff from inside VirtualBox is not supported. If you've got an i210 installed in the host machine, try running from the host Linux environment. If the host environment is not Linux, I don't think we have anything that will work for you.
Good catch @pinealservo. The only way this might work is directly assigning the HW device (I210) to the VM. I don't know if that's possible with your configuration/VMM. There could also be performance issues with TSC virtualization. That depends upon the VM configuration.
As noted above, VMs are not supported at this time.
Hi,
i am not able to load the gptp daemons due to the below errors:
root@KOR1064342VM:/gitweb/OpenAvnu-open-avb-next/daemons/gptp/linux/build# /home/dus5cob/gitweb/OpenAvnu-open-avb-next/daemons/gptp/linux/build/obj/daemon_cl eth1 > ptp.log & [4] 13897 root@KOR1064342VM:/gitweb/OpenAvnu-open-avb-next/daemons/gptp/linux/build# INFO : GPTP [17:42:25:659] gPTP starting ERROR : GPTP [17:42:25:660] Failed to configure timestamping: Operation not supported ERROR : GPTP [17:42:25:660] post_init failed

this issue is already resolved by this patch https://review.tizen.org/gerrit/24785 but still i am facing the same problem.

i am following this procedure to compile the source code:
cloned this branch : OpenAvnu-open-avb-next make EXTRA_CFLAGS="-DIGB_PTP"
then i have loaded all these module. sudo modprobe i2c_algo_bit sudo modprobe dca sudo modprobe ptp sudo insmod /home/dus5cob/gitweb/OpenAvnu-open-avb-next/kmod/igb/igb_avb.ko
finaly i run this gptp daemons /home/dus5cob/gitweb/OpenAvnu-open-avb-next/daemons/gptp/linux/build/obj/daemon_cl eth1 > ptp.log & but i face this error : ERROR : GPTP [17:42:25:660] Failed to configure timestamping: Operation not supported ERROR : GPTP [17:42:25:660] Failed to configure timestamping: Operation not supported ERROR : GPTP [17:42:25:660] post_init failed
