This application works only intermittently in 'Very Strict Multicore' mode.

For maplew.exe:

Click Properties -> Compatibility Tab -> Change Emulation Settings -> Change Emulation Settings -> Used Advanced settings checkbox -> "Change how the application uses multiple CPU cores" -> "Very strict multi-core operation"
