Seemingly indefinite spinner when opening a thread #1123

the last few times i saw this thread in my bookmarks with a new post, i clicked on it and the :v: would spin forever and eventually i would go back and it was marked as read. perhaps the posts are simply too epic to load. — b_d

that one page has at LEAST 350 images in it. lmao

As always, we need a better way to determine when to drop the :v: spinner and show the thread contents. Maybe some kind of timeout?

edit: maybe a manual override button that appears once the DOM loads, allowing to drop the spinner?
