This is a great idea, and I like it for another reason too: getting back to where you were after changing a setting.
I assume you had the iPhone in mind? No need on the iPad with its split view.

I know there's a lot about caching threads and stuff but I'm curious about how realistic this is for 1.10:
Accidentally hitting the back breadcrumb button while reading a thread is maybe the worst user experience scenario the app currently has going for itself. When this happens my instinct is to tap the top right area in the navigation bar for the Forums or Bookmarks page ( is navigation bad the right jargon? ), and well that spot is blank so I'm just yelling at my phone "WHY NOT?!?!"
Looks wise, trying to fit any of the thread title in the button is pretty much impossible so for a symbol I don't know if anything would signify "last read" and not be confusing, or if just the arrow pointing to the right is best.
Now what I really don't know about is what state it would take you back. I'm guessing it would be hard to have it just go right back exactly where you were in the thread and really not lose your spot, but anyway to get back without reloading the thread would be amazing.

Ah yes had phone in mind, still a week away from joining the iPad world.

Note to self: the "forward" button on the nav bar should be present in all tabs of the application, and should take you back to the tab you were in.
Maybe add a similar button on the posts view so you can bounce between writing a reply and checking/copying stuff from the thread.
This is a thing on iPhone, you can swipe from the right screen edge to go forward in the nav stack. Not sure about iPad.
Complementary feature request: add a Forward arrow at the top right of the bookmarks tab that returns you to the current thread, as another mechanism for performing the action currently only available with a swipe-right-edge gesture. This would better mirror the current return-to-thread-listing action which is activated by both a swipe-left-edge gesture and that top left Back arrow in the thread view. — Grace Baiting
