Tapping a link often loads a blank or white screen, requiring force quit #938

I'm getting an issue with the app where if I click on a link abiut 80% of the time it pulls up a white screen and I have to close out the whole app and re-open it. Thought it was just imgur links at first but it's also happened with YouTube and Twitter. — 10 Beers

It's an empty white screen that takes up the whole screen. I can get around it by long pressing and opening in a browser but it used to do that on a single press. — 10 Beers

All of a sudden today when I have awful set as the default browser clicking links traps me on a completely black screen and the only way to escape is to force close the app. I'm stuck setting safari as the default browser instead.

Edit: restarting my phone seems to have resolved it so this seems like an ios webview issue rather than an awful issue. — The MUMPSorceress

Tapping any links currently just opens the browser but doesn't load anything, and there's no way to back out of it except force closing the app.

iOS 13.3 and v4.0 of the app

It can be worked around by setting safari as the default browser but I prefer having it in awful with the done button to just make it go away and put me straight back in the thread.

Somehow I had recently set my browser to something awful instead of safari. I wasn’t able to view any links clicked with this setup. I wasn’t even able to back out to the app. It just took me to a blank page and forced me to close the app. — my bat mitzvah ROCKED
