Archive support was never implemented.. It had apparently been planned (obviously the interface elements exist), but never written. So, you'll need to extract the images with 7zip (or other file archive tool) manually.. Fairly sure 7zip supports bulk extract by selecting the files, and right-click context menu.
The interface for the configuration menu includes many 'planned' features that were never implemented. @laetemn appears to have stepped back from development, so I've been trying to maintain this project and build out new features and quality of life improvements. This has required re-working a large amount of code, and largely rewriting the project.
Laete has expressed that he wished to move on from classic Windows Forms with .NET Framework 4.8+ and move to a cross-platform solution with a full rewrite. Microsofts MAUI has been discussed, I've looked at .NET Core with Avalonia as well and have started making some progress in that front. I've spent weeks rebasing functions and methods, and learning how to work with Avalonia's XAML-ish design approach in preparation to migrate to a more streamlined codebase, with it should come some much needed fixes, as much of the overly-complicated code written in enormous chunks that often break all at once or silently, simply won't exist.
While I potentially see the benefit of being able to simply have image compressed on your backup drive, for saving disk space, however reading information from archives, especially when scanning folders, I see huge potential performance issues, and increased likelihood of attempting to read non-game files. I'm unsure if this will remain planned for future development, but.. I will look into it, as I am all 'existing' (There's a button for it, the idea was there) features. If it's feasible without being an incredible waste of time, and won't cause issues or bog the directory-scans down, I'm not against putting in the work.
I have a folder with lots of gamecube games, but the software is reading none of it.
I've looked through settings but I can't select any of these boxes
