@tari01 I have thought once more about the keyboard indicator icon. You favourize the language shortcut to be display (at least in desktop profile). In greeter and phone mode, I much more prefer the input-keyboard stock icon to be displayed.
For some cases I can even imagine the input-keyboard icon to be the better choice opposed to the language shortcut icon (for people that click their life through the desktop rather than using hotkeys to switch keyboard layouts).
So, to make us both happy, I propose this:
Add gsettings for the indicator's main icon to configure the displayed icon for the profiles "desktop", "greeter" and "phone" independently. The default behaviour then should be:
greeter mode: input-keyboard
phone mode: input-keyboard
desktop mode: language short cut icon
For host configurations where I consider the input-keyboard icon the better choice even for profile "desktop" I can then customize it via a gsettings override.
