HTML5 <!DOCTYPE HTML> cause timeline blank page #450

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.create a timeline page with <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 
Transitional//EN">

2.Display the page and check if timeline is visualized
3.changhe header to <!DOCTYPE HTML> : the page goes blank.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expext to see the same timeline, but with the Html5 tag I don't see anything

What version of the product are you using? On what browser and what
operating system?

Timeline <script 
src="http://static.simile.mit.edu/timeline/api-2.3.0/scripts/l10n/en/timeline.js
" onerror="" type="text/javascript"></script>, 
on chrome 13.0.782.220 m on WinXP SP3

Please provide any additional information below.

Hi folks,

I have the same problem with the DOCTYPE because I use the HTML5 declaration. 
Has anyone solve this problem?
