Wpa handshake aren't captured in wifite v2 r87 on kali linux 2 with (awuso36nh), works with --aircrack and --cowpatty tho

Do you have any idea what may have caused this bug?  Guesses are helpful!
My guess is the os update broke handshakes in pyrit and tshark 

What operating system are you running? Backtrack 5 R2? 32 or 64 bit?

When I specify the --aircrack or --cowpatty, my handshake is captured almost 
immediately.  However, with no options specified or --pyrit or --tshark, then 
the capture never happens. 100% Reproducible with my usb wifi (awuso36nh).  I 
can use the same adapter with an older build of kali and it works perfectly.
Airodump-ng can also successfully capture the same handshake attempts.
