Magic without a wand

Those of you who have seen the Fullmetal Alchemist (an anime whose this mod reminds me much of) might remember that the main charachter,Edward Elric,can performe alchemy by inducing the energy necessary through his bare hands,instead of using an otherwise required alchemic circle.He learned this ability (paying a price,of course) after exposed to beyond-human knowledge by the Gate,kind of an transcedental entity wich guards all the truth and mediates the conservation of energy in alchemic transmutations. I think something similar could be added in thaumcraft,in a way that the player has to study the Eldritch and scrach the boundaries of "forbidden knowledge" to learn how to focus the vis through his own hands and redirect it to something useful.
