App Service Migration Assistant goes blank during migration and no error message appears #92

Investigative information

Please provide the following:

Repro steps

Provide the steps required to reproduce the problem:

  1. Execute App service migration assistant
  2. Follow steps provided correctly and no errors appeared
  3. In the Azure Options section, I choose to skip the hybrid connection
  4. Starts migrating with no issues but in the last step of migration screen goes blank
  5. Check Azure portal and the app service that i set up appears but is empty -->

Expected behavior

This sounds like it could be an issue that was fixed in the 1.0.9 "Windows Preview" version of the Migration Assistant (available from https://aka.ms/appmigrate). Would you be willing to try that version and see if it behaves the same way (and if not to note the approximate time the migration was attempted and an identifier like the Azure site name to help in looking up traces)? The 1.0.9 version is a Preview for the Java Tomcat migration features, but also contains some improvements for IIS migrations.

Alternatively, there is also the option of using the migration PowerShell scripts (https://github.com/Azure/App-Service-Migration-Assistant/wiki/PowerShell-Scripts).

Does anybody know where to find the preview download? All of the links which state "preview" are the exact same download links as the release version. Even clicking the "Download preview version" within the tool itself brings you to the same page with the release version.

Thank you @tim-dapth for pointing out that link issue! Until it is fixed you can use this link to get the Preview 1.0.8 version:
