Azure / Azure-Verified-Modules

Azure Verified Modules (AVM) is an initiative to consolidate and set the standards for what a good Infrastructure-as-Code module looks like. Modules will then align to these standards, across languages (Bicep, Terraform etc.) and will then be classified as AVMs and available from their respective language specific registries.

This module has been published in the TF registry in November 2023, yet doesn't seem to have an associated Module Proposal, with track record of ownership and approval. Its source code is available here.

I'm creating this issue retrospectively and assigning it to @jaredfholgate, as according to the module index, he's the owner of this module.

Reopening. @jaredfholgate, when you're ready, please respond to my above message by repeating the quoted line.

I'm the owner of the module... do we really need this?

matebarabas commented 2 months ago

Hmm, in the module index, Jared's name is captured currently. I've pinged you with some more context and details internally. Thanks!

jaredfholgate commented 2 months ago

I'm unsure why I am flagged as the owner in the index? Given Matt has done 99.999% of the work, he should have that glory. :)

Thanks for confirming! I'm not sure who captured the record incorrectly, but there's no trace of this module even being proposed; hence I submitted this issue after the fact. This shows why we all need to follow the process we defined together, so that mistakes are hard to impossible to make. 👍

As I caught this, I'm happy to fix the wrong record, just need a handshake from @matt-FFFFFF.

Hi @matt-FFFFFF,

Thanks for requesting/proposing to be an AVM module owner!

We just want to confirm you agree to the below pages that define what module ownership means:

Any questions or clarifications needed, let us know!

If you agree, please just reply to this issue with the exact sentence below (as this helps with our automation 👍):

"I CONFIRM I WISH TO OWN THIS AVM MODULE AND UNDERSTAND THE REQUIREMENTS AND DEFINITION OF A MODULE OWNER"

Thanks,

The AVM Core Team

RR
