Notes from API Review, 6/25/24

Feature: forced delete

• New optional parameter: forcedAfterSeconds
• Why not a boolean?
• Needs better description. When does the timer start?
• Make this a timeout on the job release task instead?

Start deallocate

• Two new API endpoints

SkipWithdrawFromVNet

• Needed by Data Factory -- doing some complex networking
• Make the description clear
• Boolean properties should default to false.
• Can also make this an enum
• Maybe "VNetRetentionPolicy" ?
• May want to put this behind a feature flag
• Maybe just not expose it at all?
• Is it exposed on the GET?
• Is the cat already out of the bag?

ContainerDevMount

• ContainerHostBatchBindPoints

Additional properties allowed on Pool Patch

• Patch for some properties only allowed when pool is zero sized

Confidential VM support

• Just exposed features of VM Scale Sets

Content-Length type change

• SDKs treat this as a number, but service returned a string
• Service is changed to return an integer (int64)
• Need to be sure that the number can never be larger than 2^53 for proper operation in JS/TS
• Please review with Breaking Changes review board

SharedGalleryImageId

• Is this redundant with VMImageId ?

Application Licencing

• Removing applicationLicences
• Will not be returned on requests with new api versions
• Data is still persisted and will be returned on old API versions

CloudServiceConfiguration

• Removing it - breaking change
