Mostly just some cleanup, but also documents the secrets: "*" feature - along with a warning about the risks of unintended secrets exposure if "*" is used.

FYI I'm needing to close the source repository soon. If this PR is merged before that happens there's no problem. If not, I'll try to move or re-open this from a fork on my personal account.
