Having .NET actor framework with long term support is important to us. Will mesh provide this, or is Microsoft Orleans the route to go? If so - will there be long-term support guarantees for it? cc @sergeybykov

Adding @ChackDan for this

Vipul is working on a strategy for this. wrt the support of Orleans on SF Mesh, Vipul and Sergey have been in communications. As soon as we have a decision, we will let the community know.

Thanks for the insight. What is most important for us is to have a high quality framework that we can depend on for years to come. The capabilities provided by actor frameworks are a key enabler for modern cloud architectures. The overlap in capabilities between Orleans and service fabric SDK was concerning from the point of view that one would be killed off/unsupported. We love what the Orleans team has done, their transparency, and the history behind the project. We'd love to see the go-forward framework/SDK as a long-term supported and recommended solution for both on-prem, traditional Azure App Services/WebJobs and deploying on Mesh, depending on infrastructure needs.

Sorry, due to some internal reorgs, this work got backlogged, @dkkapur can you please figure out where we are on this effort.
