Thanks for your effort, @abergl.

We are probably not able to accept this change, as ADAL Python is already in feature-frozen mode, as explained at the very beginning of our README.
Please try its successor, the MSAL Python. Your feature requirement is already met by MSAL Python (even if it is not, we would be open for PRs there).
Our of curiosity, what is your scenario that you would need to look into the returned scopes?
