While the rest of the panel is black, the Whisker menu and the status notifier plugins remains white at the left and far right of the menu. TODOs:

Fix button color of whiskermenu panel button to be different to the rest of system buttons
Fix the status and indicator panel plugin to be different to the rest of the system buttons

seems to be working fine in Xubuntu 20.04 beta ATM
