Implementation and derivation of "Variational Bayesian inference for a nonlinear forward model." [Chappell et al. 2008] for arbitrary, user-defined model errors.
While fixing the issue, I added and refined some error messages in bayes.latent. The actual test case is provided in commit d9d6588 and the fix is in e631a1b.
