Available Resources
- Existing tool for mapping DICOM to NDA image03 format with various output (also reads NIfTI, MINC, AFNI, and NRRD). Includes other functionality, like thumbnail generation and retrieval of images from NDAR S3 objects.
- NiBD - Neuroinformatics Database
- NDA has also made some updates for internal use; YAML file for customized mapping and option to create image03 submission-ready csv file.

Comments / Limitations / Needs
- The ndar_unpack tool includes additional functionality that may not be wanted/needed for this issue.
- There are a number of dependencies in order to support many file formats, which could make the tool difficult for the novice user.
- We should think about large-scale batch processing.
- Audit log / warning on PII fields.

Goal: Develop easy to use interfaces to convert DICOM files from an MR Imaging session to NDA acceptable format (such as the image03.csv).
Impact: Reducing the time it takes to curate data for the NDA will allow researchers to submit data an easier and error free manner. This will also make it easier for databases that store DICOMS to directly export

Deliverables: During the 3-day sprint we will develop a packaged solution for allowing the user to specify the information necessary to convert a DICOM session to NDA. In the longer term, this solution will be extended to support specification, extraction, and encapsulation of functional MRI paradigm information as well.
