Here's an older paper but describes the NDA, which was previously called NDAR. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4219200/. We also have a number of tutorials. The cloud tutorials are probably of most interest. https://ndar.nih.gov/training.html

Summary data, including our data dictionary, is open access. However, subject level data is restricted use. To gain access, you'll need to complete our data access agreement, which requires institutional sponsorship or request informatics access as defined below.

For those that do not have an NDA account, the NIMH has implemented a procedure here that will allow you to get access to the NDA for 30 days. You can't use this to download data with this permission but you'll be able to access data to integrate software/pipelines related to the sprint. All we need is an email sent to ndahelp@mail.nih.gov including the sample text below.

I would like to gain informatics access to the NIMH Data Archive for to integrate computational approaches related to June 2016 NDA Sprint. I will not access NDA data for research purposes. I require access through June 30, 2016 to informatics tools with the NDA. I am affiliated with <>.
